Recioto wines are originated from Italy, Veneto region in Northern part of the country. These are sweet wines full of chocolate and raisins flavors. Perfect with dark chocolate. Reciotos are also fabulous with rich chocolate desserts such as cakes (Black Forest Gateaux, Death by Chocolate, Devil's Food), profiteroles or chocolate roulades.

Good ones to try:

• Recioto della Valpolicella Classico Le Arele 2004 wine, Italy. It is purple-red colored wine with strong chocolate flavor. Tastes well not only with smelly cheeses but chocolate and fruit salads.
• Recioto di' Soave is one of the varieties, but more rare. This sweet white wine can be paired with any chocolate.
